Ymonstah is by LA based fashion designer, Yvonne Taylor. She began her career as a backstage hand for a vintage musical theater where she soon moved into the costume design department. Simultaneously, she attended San Francisco State University, where she received her Bachelor’s in Apparel Design (2016). Soon after she graduated, her career took her to Mexicali to design costumes for independent film, “Queen and The Dead”.

Upon her return to San Francisco, Yvonne proceeded to focus her efforts on enriching the Mission District through a stream of meaningful projects, such as assisting local designers, acting as a youth educator to aspiring fashion design students and co-developing opportunities for landmark non-profit organization, Creativity Explored.

Ymonstah was conceived as a passion project in 2018 and following a move to Los Angeles, coalesced further into an operative business during the 2020 COVID pandemic. Through a steady stream of online inquiries which materialized into a growing collection of unique, handmade items, Taylor found that made to order pieces are her contribution towards a healthier and more sustainable environment. Slow fashion and appreciation of craftsmanship will always be a priority to the Ymonstah brand.
